How to edit wordpress template?

Although there are many ways to edit wordpress template, the fastest and easiest is using the built in wordpress editor which can be found in the administration menu under the Presentation > Theme Editor. Before you can edit it, you have to make sure the template have write-access or else you will get a warning from wordpress.

For those of you that want to go to the extend, you can use Dreamweaver or your favorite editor to edit the wordpress template. Unless you are really familiar with the wordpress template tags, I would recommend learning the jargons or template code/tag used wordpress template.

Even though there are many reasons for it, I choose wordpress because

  5. Tags are implemented in wordpress version 2.3 onwards which makes it easy for readers to browse for post related to their interest.
  6. Post time stamp which helps me to manage my post to be published at later date or time.
  7. Wordpress is open source which makes it open for other people to make it better.
  8. Wordpress is template based which makes it easy to add and change the design to suit the blogging theme.
  9. It follows the web standards or XHTML.
  10. Wordpress is an easy to install blogging software which comes with a setup file and step by step procedure.
  11. It supports other languages as well even though I won’t be writing in other language.
  12. Great support from open community through forum/discussion group.
  13. Great documentation through wordpress wiki which helps to clears up any problems when using wordpress.
